I knew I had missed taking pictures, but I didn’t realize how much until I was able to finally reschedule a couple of family mini-sessions. At a time when the bluebonnets were beautiful and in full bloom, there was a shelter-in-place ordinance that did not allow me to photograph these precious families and children. Finally, last week, we were able to get out and catch some of the spring flowers. The flowers in Austin do not last long with the heat that is inevitable, but the fields sure are pretty while they are here. Although I do believe it is still important to be cautious and keep a safe distance for the health and safety of everyone, I made several changes to ensure that we followed all the protocols. I allowed more of a gap in scheduling so that families did not overlap and I was able to keep a 10 foot distance at all time and many times closer to a 20-30 foot distance. My 70-200mm lens is one of my favorites. The images are stunning and it allows me to really zoom in while maintaining a long distance. The last image is a pull back of our session so you can see the distance I maintain.
I absolutely loved meeting this family and capturing their dynamics as they played in the field. They were able to get so many beautiful images to choose from in their mini-session.
