What is the best time for me to book a newborn session?
- The best time to book a newborn baby photo session is early in your pregnancy. Your session will be reserved based on your tentative due date. When the baby arrives, we will set a firm date for the following week.
When is the best time to perform the newborn session?
- The best time to photograph a newborn baby is when the baby is 5 to 10 days old
Where will the session be held?
- Newborn sessions are held in the comfort of your own home – and it doesn’t have to be perfect! I come to you so your baby can stay comfortable and calm in a familiar place. We often use a bed and the nursery, but you don’t need spotless, magazine‑ready spaces. I bring everything needed; I work around everyday items and can use neutral corners or simple backgrounds to keep the focus on your newborn. Don’t stress about deep cleaning or staging — I’m here to capture real, beautiful moments and connection, not a perfect house.
What can I expect during the session?
- Newborn sessions are baby-led and are fully paced around your baby’s needs — feeding, cuddling, and comforting as needed. You can choose from two styles, or a mix of both:
- Posed (studio-style): We’ll start with family photos — parents and siblings with the new baby — then move to posed shots of baby on soft blankets, wraps, hats, headbands, and a few props. I bring a wide variety of textures, outfits, and props that match my natural, organic aesthetic. These sessions always have an assistant and typically last around 3 hours.
- Lifestyle (documentary/storytelling): These sessions capture relaxed, authentic moments at home — feeding, snuggles, sleepy cuddles, and little interactions between family members. They’re less structured and focus on telling the real story of your first days together. These sessions typically last around an hour and a half.
What to expect after the session?
- One to two weeks after the session you will receive a gallery of images to choose from. After selecting your favorites, I will do any final edits on the images and send you your final gallery.
Can I just buy the digital images?
- Yes! All packages are digital packages. You do have the option to order prints if you choose.
